Our Curriculum

The HighScope Curriculum is used as our curriculum framework to provide children with opportunities to grow and develop in the following areas: Social , emotional, cognitive, physical and language. Rooms are arranged in interest areas and materials are provided in these areas to allow children to explore their environment, and to enhance their learning. A daily schedule and daily routine provide the basic structure for each day. Classroom themes are incorporated into the curriculum to provide the children with opportunities to learn about the world in which they live.

What We Offer

Infant

We offer infant care starting at 6 weeks of age. Our classroom allows for an intimate and individualized environment with one teacher for every four babies. Our infant room allows space for your child to learn to roll, crawl, and walk! As your little one starts the journey with us, we will work with you to make this transition a happy time by building a bond that feels like family.

Toddler

Toddlers love to discover the world around them. We allow them to do this in a safe, loving environment. At this age we are teaching them how to use utensils, clean up after themselves, use the potty, share with friends, and follow basic rules..

Preschool

Our Preschool program strives to teach children to become more independent while increasing their knowledge. We integrate an educational curriculum with social-emotional skills that your child needs to progress through school. We focus on learning to sit during circle time, waiting patiently in line, and participating with peers.This class is for those entering kindergarten the following school year. Our curriculum is designed around the “qualifications” your child needs to enter kindergarten. This includes math, language & literacy, science, and more!

School Age Care

Building Blocks for Kids provides a safe and enriching learning environment for families who need care for their school-age children before and/or after school.

Summer Camp

Every summer, winter and spring break, Learning shouldn’t end when school is out! Our school-age children spend the summer exploring a variety of venues our community has to offer. At Building Blocks For Kids, we believe school aged children need a safe and fun place to go while their parents return to work this summer. Building Blocks For Kids is planning fun and creative activities at our center as well as field trips to outdoor fun at local parks.
